Microsoft first gift to me

I didn't see my 2021 coming at all

I am more reserved person and that is how it is generally for me.

I ended 2020 with a promotion at my workplace and I got into the mid-level career as a data analyst. Going into 2021, many things were still unclear, one of them was if I wanted to still be at my former company or to move or focus on Canada PR, or master’s program or even leave my parent house. Too many unknown decisions and I prayed to God to just have his way because I felt my career was slow or maybe I was punishing myself and comparing myself with others.

NOTE: I am writing it the way I remember each event.

Jan 1,2021 came my 1st win, Microsoft selected as a MVP for Data Platform 2021/2022😊. For you be get this award, you need to show 1 year of tech community service and technical know-how of a Microsoft technology. Ooh, I was happy.

MVP welcome mail

Jan 2nd, I woke up and went to Yaba to find an apartment to rent, crazy decision (please don’t be like me). I suffered that day but got an apartment and moved in and the bills were not here. It was a service apartment and even though it was expensive, It gave me what I needed.

My first failure was in relationship, I messed up and it ended but we became good friends till date (one of the most important persons in my life)

I needed to do more certifications, I failed 2 😢and passed 1😊, so don’t get angry when you fail, just do them again and again😊😊

One thing I can do eyes closed is training, I have trained over 2000 people using Microsoft technologies, but I wanted to work on consulting jobs, and I was happy in February, I started and by April, I have worked on 3 projects (local and International).

By March, I got a mail to schedule an interview with Microsoft (PS: I forgot I applied), I scheduled and finished my interviews and hoping for the best but never knew the end days at my workplace was near. Before the interview, I watched over 30 videos on how to do interviews at Microsoft😂

In all these I was planning a Power Platform Bootcamp with a great team (shout out to Japhlet and the team) in Edo State. By May 17–25, we pulled the bootcamp and got many great reviews from Microsoft.

Then the big news came May 31 when I got my Microsoft Job and I was numb for days, didn’t know how to feel. It was a dream come true.

My dreams are valid😂😂😂😂

By July, I started at Microsoft, and it has been great all through.

August, I packed out again to a 2-bedroom flat.

From July to December, I was working and traveling across the country because I do more of cloud advocacy and developer relations for the Power Platform Space.

Currently on vacation now and I am happy for the current level I am right now.

2022 will definitely be better.
